Ryker turns 5!

Happy 5th Birthday to my 1st baby, Ryker. You have been with us threw it all lil guy. Even when you don't want to be your the most popular guy in the house. You let Campbell drag you around on a leash, put bows in your hair and sprinkles in your food. With age you have grown calmer and more tolerant of you 2 legged & 4 legged sisters. You have also stopped being a "runner", well at least for me but not so much for Dad.
So on your birthday we are going to let you do your two favorite things: hang out the window of the car and sleep!

Mr. T and I remember picking you up from the airport as a shivering scared little pup. 

Even as a little pup your personality started to reveal it's self. Just a little mischievous ! 

But you sure were cute!

Could the Collins Clan be growing?

Yes you read that right, the Collins Clan is growing. We are welcoming a new addition to the family! We have considered this for a while now but would never take the plunge but once this opportunity was presented to us we could not say no.

Lucy Burnett Collins

Lucy is a sweet 6 year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel (just like Ryker). Lucy's former family has had her since she was a baby but their human children are growing up and just don't have the time they used to.  If you know anything about the Cavilers they are very needy of their humans and do not like to be alone. Lucy is making a great companion for Ryker. Campbell is tickled pink to have a girl dog, literally pink. Campbell already made me put a pink bow on her collar and is asking for a pink leash. She was been with us for 1 week today and has been a perfect angle! Sorry Michael your not getting her back!

Pals

I talk a lot about Ryker and Campbell being buddies. Like I have said before it is a little of a one-sided relationship but every now and then I catch Ryker looking like he actually likes Campbell. Here is one of the times...
On an afternoon walk this week

Ok Ok she did have a snack and that might have helped! 

2 legs and 4 legs

 2 legs and 4 legs are the names we lovingly call our two babies Campbell and Ryker. We are those crazy dog people! Ryker is our first baby and he knows it. He sleeps in the bed with us, has dinner with us and for the most part travels with us. When Campbell came along we had high hopes they would be great friends. We got our wish, sort of. Campbell is obsessed with Ryker and he tolerates her! Almost all kids love animals but Campbell has taken it to a whole new level. I almost hate to blog this to the rest of the world but hey this to shall pass !

A while back I gave Campbell gerber puffs for a snack. I saw that she was sweetly sharing her snack with Ryker but then I took a second look... she was lining them up on the floor and eating them just like Ryker! To make it better she followed Ryker to his water bowl. Yep you guessed it! She lapped the water out of the bowl just like Ryker! Thats when I had to intervene.

When I told this story to my father in law he decided it might be a good time to tell me that when she was at his house Campbell ate ice cubes off the floor to be like Belle! ( Belle is Ryker's sister)

Now last but not least as we took a walk last night Campbell was holding the leash, like always, and Ryker went pee pee on a bush. Campbell waisted no time running up to the same bush and hiked her leg!!!!  I just hope this is not Campbell's idea of potty training!
