I'm living in a Better Homes and Garden magazine

It's official we have put our house on the market. As exciting as the prospect of selling the house we have completely out grown and "busting out the bubble" to move into the city, it is a daunting to keep the house ready to show. Not that my house is every dirty or really even messy (despite what my mother would say) it's so much work! Bed's made with sheets pressed, dishes done, laundry done, dusted, mood lighting and music, fresh flowers and most of all.... NO TOYS! Yep my 2 year has to pick up her toys. Need I say more? I had no idea how Miss C would survive with out her playroom and toys. Guess what... like we are always told we don't need half of what we have. I have put Miss C's toys into rubber maid boxes and we get one out at a time. You would think it was Christmas every time she open a new box! So it's actually working out ok.

The cutest thing so far was last night when we saw that the box of flyers outside was empty and I took a stack of flyers to replenish it. Miss C wanted to help and as she carried the flyers down the drive way she looked down at the flyer and with this look of confusion and shock turned to me and said "mommy thats my house" Not that she has any idea of what is going on but it was a moment of bitter sweetness as I realized we are selling her first home.

"Classy Drunk"

This past saturday I attended a "Classy Drunk" bachelorette party. What a wonderfull change of pace. I told Christine I can't do one more bachelorette party walking down "dirty sixth" street while getting hit on by guys in Ed Hardy shirts. Don't get me wrong every now and then I love a 'ol school trip down town but I have killed the quota this year and that is just soooo not Christine.
I have known Christine for about 5 years now. She moved to Texas from Pilly and was a true Yankee. Not to worry she has converted to a southern girl and is marrying a good southern boy! In true Christine fashion every detail of the day was perfectly planned. We had a driver/bodyguard who doubled as a great photographer. We toured three wineries in the Texas Hill Country and had a wonderful picnic lunch at Grape Creek Vineyards by Whole foods. Every detail was wonderfully thought out and it was a beautiful day that I am honored to have attended!

As you can see by winery number three we were feeling tipsy! Hints the dancing and groping of the bachelorette !

Congratulations Christine, I can't wait for the wedding. My little Philly girl turned Southern Belle!

Summer Reading~ What should I read?

It's summer reading time! I'm on the hunt for some new summer reading. Anyone have suggestions? Here are some books I just finished. Yes, you can see they all have a rather common theme I like to call surviving suburbia! They are all light reading and gave me some good laughs :)

surviving motherhood in Manhattan and being married to a lawyer. Brittany Spears had a Manny but I don't think he was as cool as Peter the Manny in this book

All you southern girls will totally get the main character in this one! If your not from the south it's a look into the debutant world. Great for single and married girls!
1990s music critic and a former editor at the Village Voice, explores the harmonious convergence of art and motherhood at age 40. If you love ACL & SXSW this is a great read

The author is now famous for her mommy blog. She put mommy blogs on the map.

Very raw look at that 1st year of motherhood.

Mommy Motivators

Every now and I need a little reminder what it is that I am doing in this crazy world of motherhood.... Nothing like a 2 day car trip to to trigger some googling for much needed inspiration & Mommy motivators.
