Fall comes to an end

As fall comes to and end so does one of the Collins favorite past times. Football.

On a good note Jake ended his season as the Cayuga High School Quarterback making it two rounds into the playoffs! Ending the season 9-3. Congratulations Jake and the Cayuga Wildcats

The Longhorns on the other hand did not exactly have a stellar season. In fact the only good thing about this season was the tailgates (Thanks Rick!) This time last year we were planning a week long trip to Southern California to follow the Horns to the National Championship Game at the Rose Bowl.

(A look back at better times)

Drinking wine at Pelican Head watching the ocean
Mr. T and I tailgating on the golf course
The Man himself, Bevo, makes his rounds greeting fans .. ME!
And last but certainly not least the Rose Bowl

Looks like this year the only bowl game we are invited to is a TOILET BOWL!

I am spreading my obsession with holiday cards! I refused to let my mom send the same card AGAIN this year so I design her a new one with a picture of her and the boys! Here is a sneak peek! I think Shutterfly owes me for all the business I'm doing over there this week...wink wink! Now I still have my own family cards to design!

Look who's moving in...The elf on the shelf

The Collins are starting a new family tradition!

He has an important job. He comes shortly after Thanksgiving. This Elf is assigned to watch over your family and report back to Santa each night about who has been naughty or nice that day. By morning he's back but he's in a different place in the house for a daily hide-and-seek ritual that will delight your kids and adults alike.

Now what should we name our Elf? Mr. T wants to name him Jerome. I was thinking Merkle.

Since I can remember my grandmother has had these elves in a cabinet above her fridge. I used to always look forward to getting them out  no matter the time of year. They were kind of skinny and a little pitiful looking but I liked them anyways. Last year I ran across the "Elf on the shelf" product. There he was looking all skinny just like the ones above the fridge! I loved him right away and knew Miss C had to have one. Then I read the back story to theses skinny little elves and it was so sweet and fun. All these years I never knew the elves above the fridge were watching me and reporting to Santa !

It's that very special time of year... Time for the Paper Fetish to come Alive!

As I have mentioned before I have a huge paper fetish. The highlight of the year for the person with a paper fetish is Christmas Cards! I'v been sending holiday cards as long as I can remember. Even as a little girl I planned, addressed and sent my parents family holiday cards. Now that I have my own precious cover girl I would say I get even more gitty about planning our Christmas cards!
My little cover girls face is sent out to about 100 friends and family each year.

For Mr. T & I's first holiday card I used a company called Vista Print. The cards were good but the quality was a little lacking. I did love the price for a folded card but in the end I got what I paid for.
Year 2, same thing. Vista Print good but did not say classy and wow!
Year 3 Miss C has arrived and there is nothing but the best for my cover girl! I used company that is every mom's best friend, Tiny Prints. Awesome! I used them for Miss C's birth announcements and was very happy. Easy navigate website, unique designs, designers on their end that check your card for ediquette   and sizing.
Year 4 Tiny Prints. Once again very happy

This year I'm thinking of trying something new. Shutterfly  has really stepped it up in there card department! Shutterfly has been a great photo printing/sharing website that I have used for years. Now they have huge selection of holiday cards. And even better... A GREAT PRICE! And now they have Premium Card Stock! Huge factor for the girl with a paper fetish! I mean look at some of the darling designs...

So the family pictures were taken today and the decision process has started. I already feel like I am be hide. I like to have my cards out the 1st or 2nd week of December. So I'm heading over to shutterfly.com to start designing some cards!

Attention all bloggers: Did you know you can earn 50 free holiday cards from Shutterfly? If you post about their products and services on your bog you can get this free gift! It only takes a minute and the free cards are a great deal.  So get started today

Happy Birthday, RuPaul!

Today's post is dedicated to drag queens in order to celebrate the 50th birthday of the Queen of All Drag Queens, Miss RuPaul.

Drag Race

For a prissy white girl, I have had more encounters with drag queens than you would expect. Hell I live in Austin; what do you expect! It all started when I tricked my best friend Chuck into going to "gay" night at Stampedes in Tyler, Texas. I know what your thinking... gay night in the heart of the bible belt? Yes, it is true even back in 1999! They had one of the best Drag shows that night that I have ever seen to date! Just ask Chuck he LOVED IT!

Yesterday Miss. C, Mr. T and I were driving down (Of course) 6th street and Miss. C pointed out the window and said "So cute!" We both responded in unison "What?" Clear as day she pointed out the window at a passing Drag Queen "She is so cute!"

She may look like her daddy but she thinks like her mommy! Keep Austin Weird Miss. C!

Sweet Berry Farms 2010

Here are the pictures from our annual family trip to sweetberry farm in Marble Falls, Texas. We had a great time picking and painting pumpkins and picking flowers! Even though Mr. T complains and says I'm doing another "cheese mom thing" he enjoyed him self. I think his favorite part was the running corn maze and Campbell and I liked painting pumpkins.

Miss C... always the animal lover

She only has Eyes for Matthew...

He may no longer be a raccoon but thats ok. Miss C likes older boys! Every time Matthew walks into the room Miss C lights up, as you can see from the first picture.  Like her mommy, you can always find Miss C on the dance floor. She had plenty of dance partners on Friday night! Little Trey P. even attempted to cut in, it did not go so well!

But she did let daddy cut in for a dance or two.
