Babymoon & Birthdays

This post is long over due but I could not skip posting it.

For Mr. T and Miss C's actual birthdays we flew up to Park City, Utah for a ski trip. This was Miss C first big trip that involved flying. She was super excited about flying and I'm actually glad we waited so long to fly with her because it was really enjoyable and I can't say that for most of the smaller kids and babies on the plane.
I'll have to write a whole post on taking small kids skiing but for now I think the pictures tell the story well...

The birthday festivities started on the ride to the airport well Miss C got her first gift, Unicorn Pillow Pet. I don't get the fasanation but she has been begging for one for months and it might be the best $6 I ever spent.

1st airport check in!
Who will get the window seat?

Hello from Salt Lake

Pep talk before ski school!

Ready to rock ski school

Hello to 5 hours of Mommy and daddy ski time! It's like having your cake and eating it too!  I love ski school!
I was awesome Trey and I got to explore 2 mountains alone skiing at our pace. Because if you have ever skied with kids its their pace only!
Little tiny skis

Learning to ski

Good Morning to our birthday Girl!

The balloons were a huge hit! Daddy and the maid service might disagree. Daddy sat in the bathroom blowing them up and with the altitude almost fainted

Birthday breakfast

On Miss C's actual birthday she skipped ski school and and skied with us. She was so cute singing and racing down the mountain that she caused a few crases. I mean people trying to turn a look at how funny she was. Our goal was not perfect downhill at for it was to get her to have fun and love the mountain as much as we do so she will be excited to learn the tuffer skills it takes to be a good skier.

Bacon stolen from her daddy's plate and the ate every bite! She is a Collins!
A pro on the lifts!

Love notes

Over the years Mr. T and I will leave little notes on each others computer. We sort of stopped when the real-estate agent saw a picture Mr T left me on my computer that was totally an inside joke! But I was pleasantly surprised to find this when I got to my computer today...

translation of the tiny print:
"I vow to do everything I can to help you these next four months!
I love you so so so so so so so so so so much!!!!!
Forever your partner in parenting"

So Sweet! Now Let's hope he says that when the twins actually arrive and we are officially out numbered!

Pregnancy #2 Part 2

To continue the story of pregnancy #2....

If you missed part one you can read it here.

So only the 3 of us knew! By the way looking back what was I thinking trusting a 3 year old not to tell! Making it thru Christmas and new years at my parents was comical to say the least. I was not feeling well and my mom was giving me medicine and cleaning after I touched anything! She thought I was contagious. Trey had a pocket full of pills I had handed off to him because I could not take them pregnant! We had a mini drug ring!
Come NewYears I kew if I did not drink my secrete would totally be out. So I had a special cooler under the DJ booth where I had O'Douls non-alcoholic beer with the labels peeled off my personalized kookie and sparkling Cider.
Up to  this point I had been to the OB to have a blood work test and the results came back positive, VERY positive! So my first ultrasound was scheduled for January 18th. By this point I had told one friend that I trust. I well swear of the high rate of miscarriage at this point in pregnancy and just like to keep the news private but I had to tell someone!
Me: Baby B is Contagious if you know what I mean
friend: OMG I so sorry he does have a runny nose I am so sorry he got you sick is Campbell ok?
Me: Not that kind of contagious
friend:  (after a long pause) OH! Well he is really cute

By now we had put an offer in our house and were set to close January 20th. All is going according to my evil little plan  We are so blessed everything is falling into place. Off to the Dr's office we go! Trey and I love my Dr. I have been his patient for over 10 years & we share mutual friends. He knew it was a big deal for us to have another baby and everyone was all smiles as we get ready to see what I had going on in my tummy!

Ultrasound is on, I see the nurses eyes get big, Dr. Cowan laughs and says you got twins! Trey is dead silent, I said WHAT!? and Campbell jumps up and says "Yeah Mommy look at the screen there is 2 bubbles in your belly" After I argue with Campbell that the ultra sound is blurry the ruling comes down, Campbell wins...

After a lecture from the Dr and nurse (which Mr. T and I admit we heard none of except gain 50 lb.)
We returned to the car in a state of total shock asking each other how we managed twins! Sorry Campbell I'm sure you never water to hear that conversation!

So family and friends there you have it, how we were told we were having
Spontaneous Fraternal Twins! A 3 year old figured it out before me.

Number one Question I'm asked is were you on fertility drugs
umm no and doesn't the look of shock on my face tell you that

Second most asked question is do either Mr T or I have a family history of twins.
Nope, least not in the last 40 years. Looks like I'm just fertile Mertel

Miss C, I can never put into words how much your Daddy and I love you. You are such a smart precious little girl. There is nothing you won't try and no stranger you won't talk to. You make us laugh everyday and out smart us all the time. You are very independent but don't stray to far from yourMamma (Please never change that). You are spreading your wings and learning to play with all the new neighbors and tackling playground politics well. Your only child syndrome does come out every now and then ( you don't like to share Ryker). I can tell already your going to be such a great big sister and you take great care of mommy while I'm pregnant.
You are 40" tall
You weigh 38 lb.
You wear a 9 1/2 shoe (huge)
Your now wearing 5T clothes, pants at least.
You hate brushing your hair but you love to wear a bow
You are a terrible eater, the only thing you eat with no fight is a happy meal
You love fruit and won't even look at vegetables
Your teeth brushing skills are getting better all the time.
You love anything to do with horses and babies
You hate getting dressed
You are starting to show a lot of interest in reading so we are working on that
You can write your name!

Happy Birthday Mr. T

Happy 39th Birthday to a great husband and wonderful
Daddy! One more year and your over the hill!
Miss C made daddy his favorite, cheese cake!
Mr. T has a very (to him) special picture of the Maroon Bells. It had the most hideous matte and frame from his bachelor pad days! He refused to get rid of it and I could see him looking for places to hang it on our new house. Since the Maroon Bells is where Mr. T proposed to me it has become a special place to both of us. So I had the picture reframed and it is going to actually get to hang in the house rather than the garage.

I'm not sure that this gift was not totally for Miss C!
