1st Birthday Wishes

 Double the giggles,
goodies and sweets,
TWO times the wishes,
surprises and treats...

A pair of bright grins
from the time it begins-
It's TWICE as much fun
when a birthday's for twins!

Baby Rush,
You stole my heart from the moment I saw you. Not at all what I expected a boy to be, you are loving, patient & quite. Only for you will I continue to wake up at 4:30 am to see you smile you toothy grin.

 Miss Nixon,
Never have I met a person, grown or child, that has a better sense of who they are. You burst into the world with complete understanding of what you want and how to get it! You are strong willed and determined. You are also very funny and protective of those & what you love. Typical Leo you are turning out to be.

 Happy 1st Birthday
Rush Beckett & Nixon Elizabeth!

3 months old!

My little wee ones are three months old! Pictured here getting some love from big sister.
We are getting into a routine, a little. The days are still crazy but our night are getting better and everyone is getting a little more sleep. Rush is still my sweet tempered chunky monkey & Nixon is still a tiny pixy with a big personality.
I describe my days as being constant. I'm constantly doing something! Someone constantly needs something! I must make at least 50 trips up and down the stairs each day. My booty better be looking good by spring! I'v lost the 50 pounds I gained and 4 extra and yes I'm very excited about it! BUT and it's a big but... my skin! How do you get your skin to not look like an elephant ear?

Two Months

Where oh where does the time go? For me it's consumed in diapers, bottles, boobs, laundry and personal assistant to a very busy 4 year old!

So I'm late posting the Twins 2 month pictures and update but these days I'm lucky to get it done at all so I'm going to cut myself a little slack.

On with the cuteness ...

What's cooking: Both Rush and Nixon eat on average every 3 hours around the clock. They take turns nursing every other feeding now since each baby eats at least 4oz per feeding so we have a little alternating breast/formula thing going on.
Who's Sleeping: The longest either baby has slept is 3 1/2 hours at a stretch
Fashion: My little Pixie Nixon is still wearing Newborn size but Big boy Rush has moves on to 0-3 months size.
Personality: We have smiles, Nixon first then about a week later Rush. Nixon is doing a lot of coos when you talk to her and she is very reactive to her big sister! Rush loves a lot of eye contact and is starting to coo a little but is much more into studying the world around him. When Nix was fussing the other day I looked at Rush and said "that's your twin" he actually gave me a laugh out loud. I swear he was thinking don't look at me mom!

36 weeks

We are getting close!

I am having contractions but nothing consistent.  The Dr. put them on the monitor to make sure know one was in any distress during contractions. The two red numbers are the babies heart rated and the green is monitoring contractions.

We also did a sonogram/ growth scan

Baby A Boy: 5 lb 12 oz
Baby B Girl: 6 lb 4 oz

My personal goal for the babies was to let them get over 5lb in the womb no matter what I had to do. We made it there little babies, we made it! And with minimal destruction to my body.

Mommy total weight gain: 42 lb

I would say this has been a great pregnant, exceptional for a multiple pregnancy. I knew the day would come when I would get uncomfortable and it has arrived. Waking is painful, my skin is VERY stretched (i keep this bad boy so oiled it shines lie an antique car)and just a walk upstairs makes me need a nap!

But it won't be long now and I would be lying if I said I was not a nervous wreck!

I'm a little uneasy to post a uncovered belly picture but I wanna look back and remember this time and have it documented in my blog book. After all I did vow to embrace the belly.

I'm spending the weekend on bed rest, YUCK, but this belly is so heavy it's about all I feel like doing. So here is to trashy novels ( 50 shades book 3) and trash TV (real housewives of NYC)

learning to embrace the belly

When I was pregnant with Miss C I did not embrace the bump. I think there were a few reasons but mostly I never looked pregnant I just looked bloated. From about 30 weeks on I kinda looked pregnant. I took very few pictures of the bump and really regret it. I guess I did not fully realize how special being pregnant is.
This pregnancy I have looked obviously pregnant since 20 weeks. I have looked and felt pregnant for a really long time! This go round I'm constantly being stopped and talked to about my bump by strangers,  kids and dogs. I must have a funny smell or something because they all feel the need to sniff and crawl all over me! Seriously my neighbors dog comes to my house and sits on my porch till I let her in. She even came and found me at the pool one day. Crazy but it's better to be big and pregnant than look maybe pregnant.

One thing that is different this go round is that I still have a four year to keep up with. I NEVER thought I would have on a bikini with this belly but hey I had Miss C to take to the pool what else could I do. One day as I was trying my best to be discreet and keep the bump under the water a little boy of no more than 3 came swimming up to of course examine the belly. He asked the normal questions, "Do you have a baby in there?" "when will they come out?" and my favorite "it's really big!" Then he rubbed my belly and said...
"You know my mommy's tummy was broken so she borrowed one to have me." I told him I'm so glad she found one to borrow because he is a sweet boy and I'm glad he found his way here"

I'm not much for the mushy stuff but it was just what I needed to hear. I'm sure coming from a mother I would have listened but coming from this sweet faced little boy I HEARD what he had to say. I think of him as the going is getting tuff, the belly is no longer cute and I'm uncomfortable most all the time.
The belly is a privilege not a right.
Each pain is a baby learning to stretch their limbs and each stretch mark is a pound my babies gained in order to survive in the outside world. Is it easy? No, but thanks to that little boy at the pool I sure am grateful I have been given the opportunity to bring my babies into the world.

So on that note I give you the Bikini bump!
This was taken at 30 weeks the day the little boy talked to me at the pool

Love is in the details

31 Weeks!

Here were a few very special moments
Miss C surprised us with some very special gifts for her new brother and sister. It took every thing in me not to cry when she gave them to me and Mrs Melissa read them.

One of the Hostess DeLea, Amber and Angela
 Love these kids!

It would not be a baby shower with the measuring of the bump
(as bad as I did not want to know how big around I am!) to spice things up they also measured Mr. T

Mommy at 31 weeks: 40"
Daddy at 31 weeks: 42"

" Mommy give me that wine!"

My oldest dearest friend Chuck bet he never thought he would be attending his 2nd baby shower!
Oh how I love Bow heads
